BOB KAISER

Robert S. Kaiser (Bob) is the owner and CEO of the multi-billion-dollar Kaiser Enterprise, to include; Gallagher-Kaiser Corporation (GK), (U.S., Mexico, Canada & Germany), Universal Piping Industries (UPI), Kais-AIR, Commerce Controls Incorporated (CCI), Ventcon Incorporated and Rival Insulation. Mr. Kaiser invested in Tann Corporation, a Wisconsin-based air pollution control company. Combined, the Kaiser Enterprise maintains over 1 million square feet of facilities (manufacturing and offices) and over 1,400 employees throughout North America and Europe.

 

The Kaiser Enterprise works across multiple markets providing turn-key solutions for a variety of industrial customers. With Gallagher-Kaiser and Ventcon Incorporated, Mr. Kaiser oversees the single largest sheet metal corporation in the U.S. 

 

From mission critical battery manufacturing projects to water infrastructure, to new paint shops, the vertically integrated Kaiser Enterprise offers customers a single point of contact to execute a variety of critical needs. The Kaiser Enterprise self-perform capabilities include, but are not limited to design and engineering, electrical power distribution design, process controls, utility generation systems, equipment installation, mechanical piping and plumbing and ventilation. 

 

Under Mr. Kaiser’s leadership, Gallagher-Kaiser has received global accolades like the prestigious General Motors Supplier of the Year award ten (10) times (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022) and (2) of the highly coveted General Motors Overdrive Awards (2020 – sustainability & 2021 – safety).

 

In 2017, Mr. Kaiser was selected to join the General Motors Supplier Council. The Council is made up of top supplier leadership from GM’s 20,000+ suppliers around the world. He remains on the council today. 

 

Outside of manufacturing, Bob Kaiser has diversified his investments with ownership of commercial and industrial real estate to include, apartments, condominiums and hotels in Nashville and Boston, as well as casinos in Florida and Las Vegas. 

 

Bob Kaiser graduated from Western Michigan University (WMU) with a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Marketing. During his tenure at WMU, he joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) and established lifelong friendships. 

 

In 2017, WMU’s Haworth College of Business honored Mr. Kaiser with an Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.

 

In 2018, he donated the technologically advanced “Robert S. Kaiser Sales, Negotiation and Leadership Laboratory” to his alma mater.

 

In 1984, he began competitive offshore powerboat racing. Bob was the National and World Champion. After 14 years on the world circuit setting world speed records, winning 17 national victories and being inducted into the hall of fame, he retired from the sport and focused on being a father of two and growing the GK business.

 

In 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023 Mr. Kaiser was featured in DBusiness Magazine as one of Detroit’s top 500 most powerful business leaders in metro Detroit.

 

Mr. Kaiser contributes to several philanthropic organizations each year. In metro Detroit, he’s been a regular contributor to the Kiefer Foundation, aimed to end distracted driving, the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, the College for Creative Studies, the Karmanos Cancer Institute, the Belle Isle Conservatory, the Detroit Children’s Fund and many more. Outside of Michigan, he has contributed to local nonprofits at each of the Kaiser Enterprise project sites throughout North America.
